It’s Not Summer Without You

Three months, ninety days

I’ve felt the joy of summer in so many ways

Plane rides, train rides, Ubers are plenty

This was the joy of visiting multiple cities

From Big Apple to France and then Milan

Back to my favorite city once and for all

I can’t believe all the things I got to do

It’s not summer without a lot of YOUS

I know I have the diet of an 8 year old boy

But that doesn’t mean I’m picky I’ll eat anything by choice

I was on a quest for the best octopus in France

I asked Tree if she wanted to try it and she said no she doesn’t want Ursula

And thanked me for the chance

I jumped off the rocks twice into the sea

The water was so blue & a nice place to be

The life guard’s mad that I wanna jump down

I told her don’t worry I won’t drown

Aeperol spritz to make me relax

I’ll crave it back in Jax

Monaco was pretty but walking put me to sleep

Memories all day I get to keep

Time to head to Italy we got to do more

Bellagio, Lake Como and one more Eras Tour

Pizza, pasta, shopping and drinks done right

Then we head home to AC and iced coffees

Back home and we’ve never been more happy

Return to work and life I’m in for a treat

So much has changed within a heart beat

Father Rafael moved to another town

And I do my best to turn my frown upside down

But I spend time with Father Valan and hes a gift

Life is all about new beginnings and shifts

My mind flashes back to the goodbye party

And it was the start of something amazing

It just took me some time to see

I see old friends and families months have gone by

Natalie, I love you forever God showed me our heart to heart is alive

I feel different— golf carts and Treylor Park

Premier and catch ups with Father Alex his kindness left a mark

On all the hearts he’s touched

And the prayers multiplied a bunch

Boat days with the Bailey’s, beers at Wipeouts

Dinner at Gel’s, tacos with M Law— all this has shown

These families never fail to watch after over me

And love me like their own

The last has arrived

To the very final bridge of this season

Does anyone know what it is

Prove it

I’m sleepy driving my car

To fly out to a city that’s not too far

To see the family and friends I love dearly

And they love me too it was shown clearly

NAKS on first and KBBQ in the morning at one

I’m still not done

I’m on the metro north to go out of the city

Long commute but I promised myself to show out

For the families who’s actions always shout

That they will never leave me behind

I look at them grinning as they’re always on my mind

It’s new- five years later

It’s cool — the way the friendships stayed

It’s a wonderful time when we’re together

My heart skips a beat just like I remembered

YFC conference 2024

Tina’s workshops made me love saints and prayer more

I cried like a baby watching Jax’s dance on the floor

I don’t wanna forget that I can count on my lifelong friends

It’s the guardian angels God sends

All the hugs and goodbyes

No tears left to cry

I get asked always how all these distant bonds never stayed in the past

And I say it’s God in the middle that’s why they last

Our flights are cancelled because of the FL storm Debby

It wasn’t Crowdstrike that stopped me

We’re all peeved

We rush to get new flights

I say reschedule the flight and let’s go out

Roje and I go to Magic Hour for the night

But we walk into Moxy and guess who we see

It’s my good friend Jesse’s parents I wasn’t ready

Magic Hour closed and parents got the wrong place so we walk to Chelsea

We catch up and we then we split

Time for drinks at 230 5th

Drinks at midnight when my flight is at eight

That’s so Jamie and I’ll still be okay

My heart is just soaring I got to catch up

With the two people who I never get to see enough

Summer is coming to its end

It’s the moments and friends that take my breath away

That I’ll keep close to my heart everyday

I get asked what adventure is next for me to do

I say I’m not sure, but what I know is that It’s not summer without YOU

Baka forever. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for these kids.
